Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the financial, administrative and clerical support of the company.
This position is responsible for entering and properly coding vendor invoices and employee expense reports, making payments owed by the company to suppliers and other creditors, paying vendor invoices or bills, and recording the company's short-term debts.
Responsibilities Receive and distribute incoming accounts payable invoices and related documents for approval.
Prepare and process vendor invoices and employee expense reports in QuickBooks, accurately and timely.
Review and verify Vendor Statements as needed.
Manage pending approved accounts payable.
Establish new vendors in accordance with company policies.
Identify and resolve any discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices.
Manage deposits made on required purchase orders.
Maintain 1099 vendor files for accuracy and up to date W9's for tax reporting.
Prepare and process weekly vendor payments.
Manage and reconcile multiple credit card accounts.
Supply order placement and management.
Special projects as assigned.
Act as primary back-up to Accounts Receivable Specialist during absences.
Requirements HS Diploma 2
years of accounts payable experience Proficiency in QuickBooks Strong data entry skills for expense reports.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of accounting principles and Accounts Payable processes.
Familiarity with purchase order processes.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
